PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
To provide a nationwide support system for the
prevention, investigation, and prosecution of economic crime. The
National White Collar Crime Center (NWCCC) links criminal justice
agencies across jurisdictional borders and bridges the gap between local
and state criminal justice agency economic crime-fighting capabilities
and the minimum threshold for federal investigation and intervention.
The center provides support for the prevention, investigation, and
prosecution of economic crime through a combination of research,
training, and investigative support services. The center also hosts the
National Cybercrime Training partnership, which provides training to
state and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies in how to
respond successfully to computer related crime, and the Internet Fraud
Complaint Center (IFCC). The IFCC provides a central analytical
repository for complaints and offers victims an easy way to alert
authorities of a suspected criminal or civil violation.
