PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
To develop support mechanisms, including liaison and
assistance programs, that will provide outreach and referrals for
technical assistance to small disadvantaged business enterprises (DBEs)
to successfully compete on transportation-related contracts. Recipients
will provide a communications network link between the Department of
Transportation; its grantees, recipients, contractors, subcontractors;
and minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises (DBEs)
in order to increase their participation in existing DOT programs and
DOT funded projects.
ELIGIBLE FUNCTIONAL CATEGORIES:
1. BUSINESS AND COMMERCE;
- Minority Business Enterprise;
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM:
- Minority group;
- Specialized group (e.g. health professionals, students, veterans);
- Small business;
WHO CAN APPLY:
- State (includes District of Columbia, public institutions of higher education and hospitals);
- Local (includes State-designated Indian Tribes, excludes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
- Public non-profit institution/organization (includes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
- Other public institution/organization;
- Federally Recognized Indian Tribal Governments;
- Small business (less than 500 employees);
- Private non-profit institution/organization (includes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
- Other private institutions/organizations;
