PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
To create Drinking Water State Revolving Funds (DWSRFs) through a program of capitalization grants to States which will provide a long-term source of State financing for the costs of infrastructure needed to achieve or maintain compliance with SDWA requirements, and to protect public health. A State may also use the Federal funds to fund programs that emphasize preventing contamination problems through source water protection and enhanced water systems management. States determine priorities for funding within their state in accordance with SDWA. The program supports the Agency's strategic goal of ensuring Clean and Safe Water (Goal 2 of EPA Annual Performance Plan).
