PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
To provide States and local governments financial assistance to implement measures that will permanently reduce or eliminate future damages and losses from natural hazards through safer building practices and improving existing structures and supporting infrastructure.

1. DISASTER PREVENTION AND RELIEF;
- Emergency Preparedness, Civil Defense;

- State (includes District of Columbia, public institutions of higher education and hospitals);
- Local (includes State-designated Indian Tribes, excludes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
- Public non-profit institution/organization (includes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
- Federally Recognized Indian Tribal Governments;
- Native American Organizations (includes Indian groups, cooperatives, corporations, partnerships, associations);
