PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
To assist States in operating comprehensive,
coordinated, effective, efficient and accountable programs of vocational
rehabilitation; to assess, plan, develop, and provide vocational
rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities, consistent
with their strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, and
capabilities so they may prepare for and engage in competitive
employment.
ELIGIBLE FUNCTIONAL CATEGORIES:
1. EMPLOYMENT, LABOR, AND TRAINING;
- Program Development;
- Job Training, Employment;
- Facilities, Planning, Construction, and Equipment;
2. HEALTH;
- Facility Planning and Construction;
- Libraries, Information and Education Services;
3. INCOME SECURITY AND SOCIAL SERVICES;
- Disabled and Handicapped Services;
- Families and Child Welfare Services;
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM:
- Handicapped;
- Physically Afflicted (e.g. TB, Arthritis, Heart Disease);
- Mentally Disabled;
WHO CAN APPLY:
- State (includes District of Columbia, public institutions of higher education and hospitals);
