    To provide a source of data for proof of age or relationship for individuals in need of such information based on census records. These records may be the only recourse if the birth was not registered and if generally acceptable proofs, such as affidavits from the doctor or midwife who attended the birth, family Bible records, or baptismal certifications, are not available.
