GOVERNMENT GRANTS AND LOANS
National Center for Preservation Technology and Training

    PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
    To develop and distribute preservation and conservation skills and technologies for the identification, evaluation, conservation, and interpretation of prehistoric and historic resources; to develop and facilitate training for Federal, State and local resource preservation professionals, cultural resource managers, maintenance personnel, and others working in the preservation field; to apply preservation technology benefits from ongoing research by other agencies and institutions; to facilitate the transfer of preservation technology among Federal agencies, State and local governments, universities, international organizations, the private sector; and to cooperate with related international organizations for the beneift of curltural resource conservation in the United States and worldwide.

    ELIGIBLE FUNCTIONAL CATEGORIES:
    1. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT;
    - Historical Preservation;
    2. NATURAL RESOURCES;
    - Wildlife Research and Preservation;

    WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM:
    - Public nonprofit institution/organization;
    - Other public institution/organization;
    - Specialized group (e.g. health professionals, students, veterans);
    - Private non-profit institution/organization;

    WHO CAN APPLY:
    - Federal;
    - State (includes District of Columbia, public institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Local (includes State-designated Indian Tribes, excludes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Sponsored organization;
    - Public non-profit institution/organization (includes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Other public institution/organization;
    - Federally Recognized Indian Tribal Governments;
    - Specialized group (e.g. health professionals, students, veterans);
    - Profit organization;
    - Private non-profit institution/organization (includes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Other private institutions/organizations;
    - Native American Organizations (includes Indian groups, cooperatives, corporations, partnerships, associations);
