Appalachian Development Highway System

    PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
    To provide a highway system which, in conjunction with other federally-aided highways, will open up areas with development potential within Appalachia where commerce and communication have been inhibited by lack of adequate access.

    ELIGIBLE FUNCTIONAL CATEGORIES:
    1. REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT;
    - Transportation;
    2. TRANSPORTATION;
    - Highways, Public Roads, and Bridges;

    WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM:
    - Anyone/general public;

    WHO CAN APPLY:
    - Interstate;
    - State (includes District of Columbia, public institutions of higher education and hospitals);
