Magnet Schools Assistance

    PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
    To provide grants to eligible local educational agencies (LEAs) or consortia of LEAs for use in magnet schools that are part of approved desegregation plans and that are designed to bring together students from different social, economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.

    ELIGIBLE FUNCTIONAL CATEGORIES:
    1. EDUCATION;
    - Educational Facilities;
    - Elementary and Secondary;
    - Resource Development and Support - Elementary, Secondary Education;
    - Resource Development and Support - Vocational Education and Handicapped Education;

    WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM:
    - Local;

    WHO CAN APPLY:
    - Local (includes State-designated Indian Tribes, excludes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
