GOVERNMENT GRANTS AND LOANS
AIDS Education and Training Centers

    PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
    To: (1) Provide education and training to primary care providers and others on the treatment and prevention of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), in collaboration with health professions schools, local hospitals, and health departments; (2) disseminate new and timely information about human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and its treatment to primary and secondary health care providers; and (3) serve as the support system for area health professions through AIDS Hotlines, clearinghouses, and referral activities.

    ELIGIBLE FUNCTIONAL CATEGORIES:
    1. EDUCATION;
    - Health Education and Training;
    - Medical Education and Training;
    2. HEALTH;
    - Communicable Diseases;
    - Education and Training;
    - Prevention and Control;
    - Specialized Health Research and Training;

    WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM:
    - State;
    - Local;
    - Specialized group (e.g. health professionals, students, veterans);
    - Health Professional;

    WHO CAN APPLY:
    - State (includes District of Columbia, public institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Local (includes State-designated Indian Tribes, excludes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Public non-profit institution/organization (includes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Other public institution/organization;
    - Specialized group (e.g. health professionals, students, veterans);
    - Profit organization;
    - Private non-profit institution/organization (includes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Other private institutions/organizations;
