GOVERNMENT GRANTS AND LOANS
Community Health Centers

    PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
    To support the development and operation of health centers which provide preventive and primary health care services, supplemental health and support services and environmental health services to medically underserved areas/populations. Priorities will be focused on providing services in the most medically underserved areas and maintaining existing centers which are serving high priority populations. Centers must have demonstrated sound capacities in the following areas: fiscal and management capabilities; monitoring and assessment of project performance; development and implementation of mechanisms for improving quality of care; and maximization of third-party reimbursement levels, through improved project administration and management.

    ELIGIBLE FUNCTIONAL CATEGORIES:
    1. ENERGY;
    - Conservation;
    2. HEALTH;
    - Education and Training;
    - Facility Planning and Construction;
    - General Health and Medical;
    - Health Services Planning and Technical Assistance;
    - Program Development;

    WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM:
    - State;
    - Local;
    - Public nonprofit institution/organization;
    - Private non-profit institution/organization;

    WHO CAN APPLY:
    - State (includes District of Columbia, public institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Local (includes State-designated Indian Tribes, excludes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Public non-profit institution/organization (includes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Other public institution/organization;
    - Private non-profit institution/organization (includes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Quasi-public non-profit institution/organization;
