Minority Biomedical Research Support

    PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
    To increase the number of researchers who are members of minority groups that are underrepresented in the biomedical sciences, MBRS gives grants to educational institutions with substantial minority enrollments to support research by faculty members, strengthen the institutions' biomedical research capabilities, and provide opportunities for students and faculty development.

    ELIGIBLE FUNCTIONAL CATEGORIES:
    1. EDUCATION;
    - Dental Education and Training;
    - Educational Facilities;
    - General Research and Evaluation;
    - Resource Development and Support - Sciences;
    2. EMPLOYMENT, LABOR, AND TRAINING;
    - Job Training, Employment;
    3. HEALTH;
    - Specialized Health Research and Training;

    WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM:
    - Local;
    - Public nonprofit institution/organization;
    - Private non-profit institution/organization;
    - American Indian;

    WHO CAN APPLY:
    - State (includes District of Columbia, public institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Public non-profit institution/organization (includes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Federally Recognized Indian Tribal Governments;
    - Minority Group;
    - Private non-profit institution/organization (includes institutions of higher education and hospitals);
    - Quasi-public non-profit institution/organization;
    - Native American Organizations (includes Indian groups, cooperatives, corporations, partnerships, associations);
